Cherry Hill High School West is a public high school located at 2101 Chapel Avenue, in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA. The school was built in 1956, and was expanded in 2000. The original fire alarm system was fully replaced and upgraded in the 2000s-2010s.

    System Specifications (2000s-present)[edit]

    FACP[edit]

The building is protected by an Edwards EST3 addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main office. The system runs Edwards’ Signature addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.

    Booster Panels[edit]

There are NAC booster panels located on the other side of the main office across from the main panel (2x), custodian room in C wing, and rooms E-23 and G-2.

    Annunciators[edit]

There is an Edwards EST3-LCDANN annunciator at the main entrance. The booster panels in areas except the main office also contain an annunciator.

    Notification Appliances[edit]

All notification appliances are from Edwards' "Genesis" line of products.

Most notification appliances in the building are EST "Genesis" G1RF-HDVM horn strobes (red, wall-mount, FIRE marking). This includes hallways (15cd), classrooms (30-75cd depending on the size), and large areas such as the gym, cafeteria, and auditoriums (set on 110cd).

The area in the library where the tall bookshelves are located has EST GCF-VM remote strobes (white, ceiling-mount, FIRE marking, set on 75cd). This is the only room that includes devices with a white color or are ceiling mount. The rest of the library has the same devices as above.

Areas of the building that do not have a horn strobe (such as bathrooms) contain EST "Genesis" G1RF-VM remote strobes (red, wall-mount, FIRE marking, set on 15cd).

The wall-mount devices are surface mounted on a red backbox in most areas of the building. Devices in the new auditorium wing and the band room are flush-mounted with G1RT-FIRE trim plates. Remote strobes in the bathrooms are flush mounted without a trim plate.

    Initiating Devices[edit]

    Pull Stations[edit]

All pull stations are EST SIGA-278 dual action addressable pull stations, mounted under STI Stopper II protective covers, with the exception of the one in the visitor booth.

    Automatic Detection Devices[edit]

There are EST SIGA-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors in the hallways. All other areas of the building, including classrooms and closets, have EST SIGA-HRS addressable heat detectors, excluding the new auditorium wing, as that portion of the building has a sprinkler system. All detectors are mounted on EST SIGA-SB bases. At least two rooms (upper and lower D wing bathrooms) have EST SIGA2-PS detectors as deficiency replacements. The H wing has the newest model of EST smoke detectors. There is a sprinkler system in the new auditorium and parts of the H wing.

    Upgrades[edit]

Some upgrades are expected to be done to the system in the future. A PDF from the school website shows "Fire Alarm System Upgrades" with a description of "Upgrade to include Audible Alarms, ADA Compliant". The changes that will be done to the system are unknown, as the description does not include any specific changes.
